Overview
This 4-day Lake Mburo and Lake Bunyonyi safari is a relaxed escape in south-west Uganda. You see zebras and impala on game drives and walking safaris in Lake Mburo, then unwind on Lake Bunyonyi with canoe trips among its many islands.
It is a great short break from Kampala, or an easy add-on to a gorilla trip.

Every 4-day Lake Mburo and Lake Bunyonyi safari we run is private and tailor-made. You travel in one of our own 4×4 Land Cruisers with an experienced driver-guide, and you can start on any date that suits you. The final price depends on your travel style (Signature, Classic or Adventurer), your group size and the season.

Full Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
Start your 4-Day Uganda Safari journey by leaving Kampala or your starting point early in the morning. Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, which is approximately a 4-5 hour drive from Kampala.
Arrive at Lake Mburo National Park and check into your chosen accommodation. Enjoy the evening at leisure, perhaps taking a short nature walk around the lodge or relaxing at the camp.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Ride on Lake Mburo
Wake up early and embark on a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. This is a great opportunity to spot wildlife like zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffalos, and various bird species.
Return to your lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Mburo. This boat ride on the 4-Day Uganda Safari offers excellent opportunities for birdwatching and observing aquatic life, including crocodiles and hippos.
After the boat ride, you can choose to do more game viewing, go for a guided nature walk, or relax at your lodge.
Day 3 of 4-Day Uganda Safari: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation and Optional Activities
Check out from your lodge in Lake Mburo and drive to Lake Bunyonyi. This drive will take you through beautiful landscapes and may take about 3-4 hours. Upon arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, check into your chosen accommodation.
Lake Bunyonyi is a peaceful and picturesque lake surrounded by terraced hills. You can spend the afternoon relaxing, taking in the scenery, or engaging in optional activities like canoeing, swimming, or visiting nearby islands. Explore the local community and cultural experiences if you’re interested.
Day 4: Return to Kampala or Your Starting Point
After breakfast, check out from your lodge at Lake Bunyonyi. Begin your 4-Day Uganda Safari journey back to Kampala or your starting point. The drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Kampala typically takes about 6-7 hours.
You can make stops along the way to stretch your legs and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Arrive back in Kampala or your starting point in the late afternoon or evening, concluding your 4-Day Lake Mburo National Park and Lake Bunyonyi Uganda Safari.
