Full Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Your Hotel
Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Traford Safaris Ltd and transferred to your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, you may relax after your international flight or enjoy optional activities around Entebbe. Your guide will brief you about your exciting Christmas safari ahead.
Overnight at the Boma Hotel
Day 2 – Transfer from Entebbe to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, begin your journey to western Uganda. Enjoy the scenic drive through beautiful countryside, small towns, and traditional villages.
You will arrive in the Fort Portal area, known for its beautiful landscapes, tea plantations, and crater lakes. Continue to Kibale National Park, home to one of Africa’s largest populations of chimpanzees.
After checking into your lodge, relax and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Overnight at Turraco Tree Tops
Day 3 – Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale Forest for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. Follow experienced park guides into the tropical rainforest in search of these fascinating primates.
Once you find the chimpanzees, you will spend time observing their behaviour in their natural habitat.
Later, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive offers beautiful views of the Rwenzori region and the western Rift Valley.
Overnight at Elephant hub Safari Lodge
Day 4 – Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Start the day with an early morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, warthogs, and a variety of bird species.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel. The channel is well known for its large concentrations of hippos, elephants along the shores, buffaloes, and numerous bird species.
Return to the lodge in the evening.

Day 5 – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and travel south towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Depending on the route and season, you may pass through the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Keep your camera ready as you search for wildlife along the way.
Continue through the scenic hills of southwestern Uganda before arriving at your lodge near Bwindi.
Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp
Day 6 – Christmas Day Gorilla Trekking Experience
Enjoy a truly unforgettable Christmas celebration with a mountain gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest with experienced guides and trackers. The trek may take several hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family.
Once you find the gorillas, spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat.
Return to the lodge later for relaxation and a special Christmas celebration surrounded by the beauty of Uganda’s rainforest.

Day 7 – Bwindi to Entebbe
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe.
Enjoy your final scenic drive through southwestern and central Uganda. You may make stops along the way for lunch, refreshments, and photographs.
Arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon or evening and check into your hotel.
This final overnight stay gives you time to relax and rest after the long journey before your international departure.

Day 8 – Departure from Entebbe
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and relax depending on your international flight schedule.
