Full Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative from Traford Safaris Ltd and transferred to your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, relax after your journey or enjoy a short introduction to Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and most organized cities.
Overnight in Kigali.
Day 2 – Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour of Kigali. You may visit important cultural and historical sites, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Later, depart Kigali and drive north towards Musanze and Volcanoes National Park. The journey takes you through Rwanda’s famous rolling hills and beautiful countryside.
Arrive at your lodge and relax as you prepare for your gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 3 – Christmas Eve or Christmas Day Gorilla Trekking
Today is the highlight of your Rwanda Christmas Safari.
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing. You will then begin your guided trek through the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.
The trek can take several hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, enjoy one unforgettable hour observing their behaviour and taking photographs.
Return to your lodge for relaxation and enjoy the festive atmosphere of Christmas in Rwanda.

Day 4 – Golden Monkey Trekking and Cultural Experience
After breakfast, enjoy another exciting primate experience with golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
These playful and energetic monkeys live in the bamboo forests around the volcanoes and offer a wonderful wildlife experience.
Later, enjoy an optional cultural experience around Musanze, where you can learn about Rwanda’s traditions, music, dance, and local life.
Return to your lodge for your final evening in the Volcanoes region.

Day 5 – Return to Kigali and Departure
After breakfast, depart Musanze and return to Kigali.
Depending on your departure schedule, enjoy some final sightseeing or shopping before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your flight home.
